What on Earth have you found?
Welcome to Walking with Buttercup, my little nook on this vast space we call the internet. Here you will find my art, a piece of my mind, some ranting, some raving...you never know what the day will bring. So stroll through the pages of my life and enjoy the trip.

Words On Art
Today I attended a speech by artist and Texas A&M University of Commerce alumni, Charles Michael Reid. He presented a series of slides with different pieces of his work, each with the recurring theme of indiscernible words on art. You could tell that he spent a lot of time and effort on each piece and that they all seemed to tell some sort of story of his life. His art reminded me of the art done by Michael Miller, and his Gallery Today I am Thankful For All I Have. Both incorporated words in their art in layers over and around the art, melding them into the art itself so that the two are one. Personally I do not prefer words on art, unless it is a poster found in a classroom, to me it makes the art appear cheap and impersonal. Many others in attendance really enjoyed the art and raved about it, but I guess to each their own.
